About us

Poltimore Festival is a student-run not-for-profit charity festival that showcases the best in independent music, theatre, film, art, and so much more from in and around the West-Country. We work to provide a platform for independent and underrepresented artists, as well as creating a collaborative space for a wide range of local charities.

Our festival has two main goals: to provide a platform for independent and underrepresented artists in the South-West, and to raise money for Poltimore House and Grounds, so that they can continue to create a community space with rehabilitation and therapy support groups. The money raised helps restore the House and Grounds, facilitating projects that develop positive wellbeing practices for individuals going through a rehabilitation journey or therapeutic treatment. However, the festival is a collaborative space for a wide range of local charities beyond Poltimore House.

We run the festival out of the beautiful yet dilapidated 18th century manor house Poltimore House and Gardens. The house has been everything from a home for refugees to an NHS hospital, and the festival takes this beautiful building and transforms it into a bohemian paradise.

We love local businesses and the festival provides a perfect setting to introduce the public to these lovely traders. Get ready to indulge yourself with our incredible line-up of food vendors who will blow you away with their tasty locally sourced food. Whatever your taste buds are craving, we’ve got you covered from sweet treats to hearty meals.

Of course, no festival would be complete without a fantastic bar providing a wide range of drink offerings. We are very glad to work with local events bar provider Barnova Events (Oddfellows Exeter). Not only do they host some brilliant local brews and cocktails but they also have plenty of alcohol-free alternatives for everyone to enjoy their day with a drink in hand!

But it’s not just food and drink – we also host a variety of local start-ups and established companies and traders to sell their wares. Flower crowns, tote bags, pom-pom décor and fashionable up-cycled clothing is what we’re all about.

If you would like to sell at the festival, please contact our trading team to discuss obtaining a pitch:

We have plenty of activities that are fun for the whole family, with art workshops and games for the little ones as well as all the big kids out there. The festival has plenty to offer to keep the little ones entertained, but we also have some challenging activities and mindfulness exercises for adults and teens alike to try something new.
